My original plan had been not to add a new blog entry until that situation was resolved. Too much time passing, without resolution, so I've been occupying Wall Street in Oakland. My hope is that the nuclear and all other environmental concerns will become a part of the movement. For the sake of these beautiful people, and all other living things, as far as I'm concerned it is top of Occupy Wall Street agenda!
Photos I took while there before the police crackdown ordered by Mayor Jean Quan:
Violence is wrong, I do not believe in it, as I have made clear all along. I do believe the so-called "anarchists" to be plants by those who oppose to make movement look bad. I believe them to be infiltrators, not part of the movement. Important to me in all of this is that I am looking up from F, I am doing something new (we have to live, as long as we are alive!), and I am taking heart that there will be no more violence. This movement has got people thinking and talking again. I do not condone militance from any camp. I hope for better.
And a little movie I made there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibdex1VCNYI
Greetings,
ReplyDeleteSince I do not live too far away from Oakland, I have been watching the development more closely and though I wanted to attend Wednesday's 'shut-down' of the city, I am concerned about the message and especially those who destroy private and public property.
This for certain is not the message we the 99% do not want to send.
I have mentioned more than once that a platform, a manifesto is required and one that needs to be adopted not only from city to city or state to state, but also on an international level.
There needs to be more than just occupying a place and protesting.
violence is wrong, I also do not believe in it, as I have made clear all along. I do believe the so-called "anarchists" to be plants by those who oppose to make movement look bad. I believe them to be infiltrators, not part of the movement. But the blog is looking great! I even fixed the link problem by clicking on edit feature of blogger. The important thing to me is that I am looking up from F, I am doing something new (we have to live, as long as we are alive!), and I am taking heart that there will be no more violence, and this movement has got people thinking and talking again. I am also worried, btw, I do not condone militance from any camp. I hope for better.
